Madison Barracks-Sackets Harbor, NY

Madison Barracks, located in Sackets Harbor, New York, is a historic military installation with a rich legacy dating back to the early 19th century. Established in 1815 following the War of 1812, the barracks were constructed due to the area’s strategic importance along the northern frontier. Named after President James Madison, the site has served various roles throughout its history, including as a frontier post, military depot, hospital, and training center.

F.E. Warren Air Force Base War Trophies, Balangiga, PI (begins on pg 29)

the story behind two church bells and a cannon taken from the town of Balangiga on Samar Island in the Philippines during the Philippine-American War. These items, considered war trophies, are now displayed at Trophy Park on Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming, as part of the base’s historical legacy.

In late summer 1901, Company C of the 9th Infantry occupied several buildings in Balangiga, including a convent next to the church.

3/9 INF MANCHU Cohort Association, 7th ID Ft Ord
This private group is for those that served with the 3/9 MANCHU Cohort at Ft Ord, CA. From basic training at Harmony Church, Ft Benning in 87, arriving at Ft Ord in Jan 88 and completing the Light Fighter “Rite of Passage” followed by the “Manchu Mile”, the MFO mission Sinai, Egypt summer of 89, Operation Just Cause 89-90, JOTC Ft Sherman, Panama and Operation Promote Liberty during mid 90, the numerous field problems in the back yard, Ft Hunter Liggett and Camp Roberts, til the cohort disbanded in Jan 91. Family members are welcome here as well.
