History of the Ninth Infantry Regiment (MANCHU)
The Ninth Infantry Regiment, famously known as the “Manchu Regiment,” boasts a distinguished history dating back to its formation. The regiment earned its nickname during the Boxer Rebellion in China, where its soldiers marched 85 miles to relieve the besieged foreign legations in Peking. The courage, determination, and endurance displayed by the Manchus in this and subsequent conflicts have become legendary, and the regiment has continued to serve with honor through multiple wars and peacetime operations.
